CLASS 395 FLEET

CLIENT: South Eastern Railways.

In 2014, Train Door Solutions (TDS) and Nabtesco Corporation formed a partnership agreement to allow the overhaul of all door system products on Class 395.

The Class 395 Javelin trains were manufactured by Hitachi in Japan and are operated by Southern Eastern Railways. The train operator with this train offers a high speed service from Central London’s, St. Pancras Station to the South Coast.

The project comprises 29, 6 car sets and Nabtesco Corporation supplied the external pneumatically operated passenger door system. TDS commenced work on the first 6 year overhaul in 2104 and are scheduled to complete the work by 2017.  Following on from this will be the first 9 year service which will see the door mechanism overhauled to Nabtesco’s highly comprehensive specification. Upon completion of the overhaul the pressing devices are delivered back to Hitachi’s prestigious and purpose built facility in Ashford Kent.

The parts are provided with a full 12 month warranty.
